Pad Cells

Hello Ference and Philipp, Hello List! Today in our Mumble Session we also talked about the effort for Pad Cells. Well, there are cells we can look at under http://research.kek.jp/people/ikeda/openIP/openIP_2.pdf This paper is in Japanese, the schematics are understandable. I am not sure, why this guy uses two grounds, but this cells are a good starting point. As I know from Philipp, he already tried to get the schematics (and the Spice Model at the end of the paper) into the Standard Cell Generator. Please, Ference and Philipp, talked with each other and kept me/us on topic. It would be nice, to handle the Pad Cells quite flexible and generated. Fundraising & PearlRiver v2

Dear folks Since I'm still on the fundraising campaign for getting my new lab access, we've got now time to prepare for the new battle by fixing up our designs, according to the findings we made during the last year. It's an opportunity for us to put more test structures into the PearlRiver, respectively fixing up mistakes we did with older test structures. Also, I'd like to put some test pad cells in there in order to see whether they already work. Assuming we fix the issue with the STI CMP and the active area CMP, they should start doing something at least. Design rules

Hi everyone Magic uses the MOSIS design rules by default (on which we've built our rules). The minimum width and length for contacts (including poly contact) is 4 lambda (2 microns side length). So either I hack Magic in a way that it requires less height/length for the vias of LibreSilicon or we try to use 2 microns side length. Any inputs? -lev
