Hi The following points resulted from yesterdays Mumble Session on May 27, 2018: We've discussed the need for a finalization of the test structure documentation in order to start drawing the test wafer layout. This task has been taken over by Hagen, please contact him if you wanna add more test structures or take over the task (would be very appreciated!) Hagen is also working on the first revision of the design rules document. My task is to finish the first process flow to test with the machines at HKUST. Also we've discussed attack vectors through JTAG in view of future highly secure SoCs with encrypted DRAM (crypto unit withint he DRAM controller) and I'm working out a paper on the side on that topic. All together I've got a pretty good solution to prevent attacks at running systems, which is to provide a reset pin which has to be toggled at least at the begging of the communication in order to set the device into "JTAG mode" which will reset the DRAM crypto key and make it impossible to extract data stored before switching into JTAG mode. (The DI, DO flipflop only is being clocked when the "JTAG mode" bit is true) Cheers David

QtFlow Tool Chain Proposal

Hello List. As you might notice already, we hold a LibreSilicon Tool Chain Hackathon over the last weekend. Well, to get a impression, or a picture of our notes - please look at the attached JPG. For the more advanced stuff I draw a XML file with draw.io and got the also attached PDF. I think, this could inform new attendee about the topic, help to understand our design flow and even rule the tool development in future. Please give me feedback about the Tool Chain Proposal! Standardized Data Structures Lef/Def routines

Hej everybody! Sorry for not joining mumble sessions, I feel a little of on communications, but anyway, hope my question finds some positive echo ;) As I tried to understand project structures of the whole design flow - correct me if I am wrong - each part of the program uses its own file formats or parsers as data structures for macros and layers, from what I skimmed: * Graywolf uses a YACC parser for some file formats (don't know which) * in the qflow repo is some form of lefdef parser using YACC, where I am not sure if it is just for some UI stuff or supposed to be a actual parser * in qroute 20% of the LOCs are for lefdef parsing with a hand written parser I am not sure if there are some more forms of lefdef readers? So my general plan would be to write a more generic router (being more algorithmic agnostic providing a general data structure, to experiment with some routing algorithms, splitting in global and detailed routing and so on). Before dealing with this I would opt to have some common core dealing with lefdef reading and writing. Is there maybe already some tool doing this? In the last week I started going through the lefdef ref manual 5.8 and to manually parse lef files into some c++ structs, see[1] to have a look yourself. From quite some big lef files it already can parse >90% the mayor chunck. Being quite uncommented and not tougth through to much, but before wasting more time on this I wanted to get some feedback. Is the general lefdef-lib thing a idea worth spending more energy on? Is there already another attempt to do so in progress? Thanks for information and feedback! P.S. 4 pole probe

Hi Hagen The analyzer in the lab is a the Keysight b1500a (Agilent). The probes are being placed manually by hand using a microscope. The probes are "4 Micropositioners in S-926 series" with a tip diameter of 4 microns. All infos here: http://www.nff.ust.hk/en/equipment-and-process/equipment-list/metrology.html Since the b1500a is an analyzer it can do basically everything we want :-) Cheers David
